Most people don't know that "The Real Roxanne" was played by two different young women. After Roxanne Shanté's "Roxanne's Revenge" blew up, UTFO and Full Force created a character called The Real Roxanne to answer their own song "Roxanne, Roxanne." 14-year-old Elease Jack originated the role on the B-side record, but by the time the music video was shot, she'd been replaced by Adelaida Jo'Anne Martinez, who became The Real Roxanne fans remember today.
