Jay Ray presents the Counter Narrative Project's 'Sacred Ministry', which traces the Black and Latino queer roots of house music and the clubs that nurtured it, turning dance floors into sacred spaces amid racism, homophobia, and the HIV/AIDS crisis. The webinar honors Black gay DJs and communities—from The Loft to Paradise Garage, the Warehouse, Jewel’s Catch One, and beyond—portraying the DJ as minister and the dance floor as sanctuary, where activism and healing were born. It is both a history lesson and a love letter to the communities that made house a global movement and a continuing sacred ministry.
